Please read the rules and requirements below BEFORE signing up for your shift. The Quiltmaker Café would not be possible without the help of countless volunteers, both behind the scenes and at events. We appreciate you and thank you for joining us!
Rules
- You must be at least 15 years old to volunteer with us. Youth ages 15-17 need a parent/guardian to sign a waiver. Download Minors Waiver
- Come with an open mind! We are always catering to new situations and needs.
- Please contact us if you are unable to make your shift – Email info@thequiltmakercafe.org ASAP
- Waivers must be signed yearly – If you are unsure if your waiver has expired, contact us! Download Waiver
Dress Code
- Please wear comfortable clothing that might get dirty.
- Wear closed-toed shoes for your entire shift.
- If signing up for food prep or serving, please wear a hat (or hair covering) and tie back long hair.
- We do not normally have a place to store belongings. Please leave valuables at home or in the car.
Positions
- The Food Runner ensures every meal is delivered accurately, promptly, and with a friendly attitude. They work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house team to provide smooth, efficient service and maintain a clean, organized dining area. Food Runners follow all food safety and sanitation procedures while assisting with guest needs and supporting opening and closing duties.
- The Beverage Counter Volunteer prepares and serves coffee, tea, and other beverages while greeting every guest with warmth and kindness. They keep the beverage station clean, stocked, and organized, ensuring all food safety and sanitation procedures are followed. Volunteers refill supplies as needed, and communicate with the café team to provide efficient service.
- The Dishwasher keeps dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment clean, sanitized, and ready for use while maintaining a safe and organized work area. They assist with cleaning the kitchen, dining areas, and waste disposal to support efficient daily operations. Dishwashers follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures while working closely with the kitchen team.
